The Children of the Night is the third studio album by Swedish death metal band Tribulation. It was released on 20 April 2015 through Century Media Records. The album's sound is a stark departure from the death metal style of Tribulation's previous records. The Children of the Night features a heavy metal and extreme metal sound with elements from psychedelic rock, progressive metal, thrash metal, classic rock, hard rock, and gothic rock.

The glorious third album from the Swedish metal band Tribulation is a sprawling, compulsory tale that doesn’t turn dull. There is no way to arrive at a consensus artist who will satisfy everyone, of course, but The Children of the Night comes close. On one hand, the irascible Andersson sounds like the kind of bandleader who hopes to follow you into an alley with a lead pipe. But the organ-loaded, solo-bejeweled Strains of Horror is an anthem. The hook of Strange Gateways Beckon just begs to be shouted back at the band. Sure, Andersson is a bit too brusque for complete crossover success, but the exceptional The Children of the Nightextends an open invitation to a very wide audience.

Children of the Night is an album by Canadian alternative recording artist Nash the Slash. Released in 1981 after Nash toured the United Kingdom in 1980 supporting Gary Numan, the album quickly gained cult status with its unique sound, created using electric mandolins, electric violins, drum machines and other sonic devices. The album opens with "Strange Gateways Beckon," with an ominous organ setting the mood for the rest of the album. A barren verse with a clean-picked guitar part counters what most would expect to be a punch in the gut opener. Melancholia" comes next and picks up the tempo with its punk and goth rock attitude that comes back into play in various other points of the album.
