Whales and Nightingales. Whales and Nightingales Tracklist. 1. Song for David Lyrics.
Complete sua coleção de Judy Collins.
Wildflowers is the seventh studio album by Judy Collins, released in 1967. It is her highest charting album to date, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Pop Albums charts. It included her Top 10 hit version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides, Now". The album was arranged by Joshua Rifkin and produced by Mark Abramson. Collins' recording "Albatross" was used in the 1968 film adaptation of The Subject Was Roses.
Collins also had a hit with her adaptation of the song "Farewell to Tarwathie" which she sang over the accompaniment of Humpback Whales. It opened new doors for her and for folk music in general.
Judy Collins had a hit with the spiritual Amazing Grace, further proving the woman could sing any type of song and receive notice. Her ear for a song was unerring and here she pulls from a variety of sources. Joan Baez’s Song for David is perfect in either’s hands, with Collins finding a gentler touch. Jacques Brel haunts the album with Sons Of and Marieke, songs that trend towards Collins’ love for the art song and towards loftier arrangements.
