Marcus Gibbs was an American carpenter's mate aboard the Obra Dinn during its ill-fated voyage in 1802. He was fatally spiked by a crab rider as he threw his axe at it. Gibbs was a carpenter and assistant of fellow American carpenter, Winston Smith. He was first seen witnessing the execution of passenger Hok-Seng Lau, alongside his boss. He later helped Smith retrieve the body of one of the seamen, William Wasim, who fell down a flight of stairs to his death.
