Extra Prolific was an American alternative hip hop duo formally signed to Jive Records. The duo composed of rapper Duane "Snupe" Lee and producer/DJ Michael "Mike G" Gray and was a subgroup of the rap collective Hieroglyphics. Extra Prolific was the Hieroglyphics' second group to splinter from the collective after the Souls of Mischief and like them, signed a deal with Jive Records. The duo recorded their debut album Like It Should Be which was released in late in 1994

Master Piece is the first and only non-gospel rap, post-Hiero Extra Prolific album, released independently on Snuper Records in 1998. Master Piece is a cassette-only release, duplicated on gold foil tapes by Disc Makers (formerly Music Annex) of Fremont with a one-sided black & white j-card. Sometime after the release of Master Piece, Snupe changed his name to Lee Majors (not that Lee Majors) and began recording gospel rap with a rapper named J-White. The duo have released two albums, Iron Sharpens Iron in 2005 and The Good Life in 2009, but I’m not sure if they’ve released anything since. More recently, Snupe went back to using the name Extra Prolific, released Royalty in 2013 and the single Come On in 2016. Must-hear track: Action Set In Flight.
