Unnamed ‎(CD, Album). An excellent album of previously unreleased music from 1971 and 1972. It mixes free jazz and typical early 70's French freaky-rock to great effect, it's quite dark in places, akin their first album on Vamp. This wouldn't have been out of place on the Futura label and this reissue is a fine example of how re-releases should be done. Beautiful pressing and sound.

Unnamed collects previously unreleased Lard Free tracks recorded a year or two prior to the first album, from 1973, and offers a glimpse of the Gilbert Artman -led experimental group in its infancy. Like the debut, Unnamed blends elements of free jazz, Canterbury, and other progressive rock, and with similar incongruities that fortunately do not detract from the album's charm. If anything, this album is even more improvisational, with looser structures and plenty of instrumental jams.
