Strait Old Line" is a 1983 song by New Zealand art rock group Split Enz from their second last studio album Conflicting Emotions Although the single cracked the Top 20 in the band's native New Zealand, it was a rare chart failure in Australia, not even reaching the Top 40. This was particularly surprising given the huge success of the previous year's Time and Tide album and its singles, and the more recent Top 10 placing of Tim Finn's Escapade album  . Spellbound, very often subtitled on the cover as "The Very Best Of Split Enz", is a 1997 compilation album by New Zealand rock band Split Enz. Apparently intended to be the final word on Split Enz compilations, it is the band's most comprehensive career survey. Split Enz' third album was recorded at London's AIR Studios with producer (and former Beatles engineer) Geoff Emerick from June to July 1977. Dizrythmia (a title taken from the medical term for jet-lag, circadia disrhythmia, meaning 'upset body rhythm') made no appreciable impact in the UK, but was very successful in Australasia, and gave them their first simultaneous hits on the Australian and New Zealand singles and album charts. Nevertheless, Neil's songs fared well commercially - the jazzy "Straight Old Line" (October 1983), the anthemic "Message To My Girl" (January 1984) and "I Wake Up Every Night" (April 1984) all appeared as singles
