Door Open at 8 am is an album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow. It is from the Aqua Necromancer sessions, but samples jazz instead of progressive rock. References include The Tony Williams Lifetime (whose "Vuelta Abajo" is sampled on track 2), Jimmy Garrison/Elvin Jones, and John Coltrane's The Africa/Brass Sessions, Volume 2 ("Africa" is sampled on track 6). For me the best album of merbow is fucking well done the sounds are well built creating a psychedelic, aggressive environment and at the same time I dare say pacific wrapping sounds and of course noisy.
