Though the words "psychedelic" and "freakrock" appear in the title of this 20-track compilation, don't confuse the music with "freakbeat," the label often used to describe much of the British '60s rock that bridged the mod/British Invasion and psychedelic eras. These are obscurities - and you better believe they are very obscure when the most well-known artists are Steamhammer and the Montanas - from the late '60s and early '70s, and about as much early hard rock (with some prog rock elements as well) as psychedelia.
