Dale Morris: Country Gospel Texas Style In producing this CD, we created a gospel album that has intentionally added a bit of Texas Swing, as flavor, to provide a unique sound, Gospel Music Texas Style! Something a little different that will touch the spiritual cords of the listener's hearts. Dale owes his versatility to the many different styles of music to which he has been exposed. He held the title of Texas Fiddle Champ (Old Time Fiddling) for three years.

During that time he brought together two streams of American folk music to produce western swing. He had learned frontier fiddle music from his father and grandfather, and blues from black playmates and coworkers in the cottonfields of East and West Texas. In 1929 Wills moved to Fort Worth, where he performed on several radio stations, organized a band that became the Light Crust Doughboys, and worked for a future governor of Texas and United States senator, W. Lee O'Daniel. In 1934 Wills moved to Oklahoma, where he made radio and musical history with his broadcasts over Station KVOO. Dale Morris Jr. was our featured Master Fiddler not so long ago. Dale worked for the late Ray Price, country music legend. Enjoy! Laughing Boy - Dale Morris Jr & Jonathan Trawick. Master Fiddler Series.

Dale Morris Jr. Texas Fiddling.

Dale Morris, a native of Tucson, Arizona, is a true renaissance man. Growing up in a blue collar family in the 60s. Dale was running construction crews in the hot desert sun by the age of 16. He has spent his entire life working with his hands, and when the day shift was over he put those skills to an even more creative use; Sculpture. His love of the beauty in the Sonoran desert and it's native treasures led him to pursue the art of working with Southwestern hardwoods. Dale has now been working with Southwest Hardwoods for over 30 years, and over that time has developed his own personalized techniques on the lathe along with his own individual style of inlay. His greatest passion comes in the form of his Heartsafes, beautifully hand-crafted Memorial Urns utilizing Hardwoods of the Southwest inlaid with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and Semi-Precious Gemstones.
