Robert "Bobby" Bloom (1945 – February 28, 1974) was an riter. He is known best for being a one-hit wonder with the 1970 song, "Montego Bay," which was co-written with and produced by Jeff Barry.
His life was very short lived, he committed suicide in 1974 at the age of 29 having shot himself. He hit the UK top 3 in 1970 with Montego Bay and the follow up was Heavy Makes You Happy a song which should have been more successful than its 31 peak in the UK. Bobby was attached to Jeff Barry musically speaking, who was a massive songwriter at the time and he co-wrote Mony Mony along with Tommy James. This album is a strange mixture of genre& but is worth a listen
