Visage studio album chronology. Demons to Diamonds (2015). An album of alternative mixes, Darkness to Diamond, was released in January 2016. Work began on the album in 2014. During a break in the recording, vocalist Steve Strange died while on holiday in Egypt in February 2015, though several tracks had already been written and recorded by this time including a cover of David Bowie's 1985 hit "Loving the Alien"

Demons to Diamonds (2015).

Steve Strange & Visage began working on their follow up album to 2013 Hearts and Knives in spring 2014. With over 15 songs written and scheduled the band had recorded just over half when Steve sadly died on Feb 12th 2015. After the shock of losing their leader the band rather than leave the album uncompleted decided to persever and complete the album. The result is a lasting legacy to one of the UKs most creative music and fashion icons of recent years

Demons to Diamonds is a fixed shooter for the Atari 2600 produced by Atari, Inc. and released in 1982. It was programmed by Nick Turner with graphics designed by Alan Murphy. Nick Turner previously ported Super Breakout to the 2600. The manual states that the game was "primarily designed for children in the 6 to 12 age range. Players attempt to shoot demons in a "cosmic carnival" and then pick up the diamonds left behind by them while dodging shots from enemy skulls.

Just received a red vinyl and a white vinyl too (Pylon Records via ebay).

The Visage website says: "Heavyweight 180g green vinyl of the Diamonds To Demons album". I have the LP & it's not a 180g pressing. Not sure if this is the same for the grey vinyl.

Hi again, have weighed all 3 copies I ended up getting (translucent green from Visage shop, and translucent blue and opaque green marbled (both direct from label's shop). They are all around 150g, but definitely not the real heavy-weight 180g. Interestingly I also checked Hearts & Knives (translucent red, again from Visage shop), white (standard commercial release, despite "limited" sticker) and black (the real limited edition), and only the white vinyl came in at just over 180g, the other two were also around 150g!Pylon did not state any were heavy-weight, or 180g, but the Visage shop did specify the red of Hearts & Knives, and the translucent green of Demons, were both 180g, so they must have been led to believe they would be. Hmmm!

Interesting - gather there are 2 different green vinyls - on Pylon's site no mention of 180g pressing, and the picture shows a pea-green slightly marbled record. On their Facebook page they indicate in a reply there is also a green translucent (which looks more like the picture on Visage web-shop). May be worth contacting Rich and the guys at the Visage web-shop, just to see if they've had any feedback from other buyers.

"Become" (Midge Ure) and "Loving The Alien" (Bowie) are both cover versions, although the lyrics/credits for "Become" are omitted from the LP insert. Midge's original version was released in 2014 on his album "Fragile". The vinyl LP is also available in green vinyl.

Both tracks include printed writing credits to John Graham and Adam Fielding respectively, along with Steve Strange and 1 or 2 current Visage members. They do both sound similar to the originals, but with additional arrangements etc. "Your Skin Is My Sin" also appears to be a re-recording of a track by Bottin ft Steve Strange, called "Poison Within", released last year. Francois Gamaury (of Bottin) is also credited as co-writer on that track.

From the available previews, Before You Win sounds like a cover of John Graham's Something New (from his album Cold Sun), and Aurora is a cover of Adam Fielding's song of the same name (from his album Distant Activity). I would be interested to know if those are omitted from the booklet, as well.
