Vitamin's Lost Songs: Songs the Beatles Wrote but Never Recorded is a great idea for a disc. Lennon and McCartney recorded their best songs, but they did give away some good Merseybeat stuff at the height of Beatlemania, including "Bad to Me" and "World Without Love. Collecting these songs, along with other lesser-known Beatle original tunes of the era, is a fantastic idea unless you're a Beatles fanatic looking for a new version of these little-heard.
This article is a list of cover versions recorded and released by the Beatles as a band or solo artists. Ya Ya" (Lee Dorsey) – Walls and Bridges, 1974. The Beatles were an English rock band from Liverpool who recorded hundreds of songs during their career. The group's "main catalogue" – songs released between 1962 and 1970 – consists of 213 songs (some of which exist in different versions): 188 originals and 25 covers. Since their break-up, over 100 more songs by the group have been officially released, which include live songs the group never recorded in-studio and numerous outtakes.
With The Beatles shot to No. 1 in the Britain replacing Please Please Me and remained there for 21 of the 51 weeks it spent in the Top Twenty. The new album is a complete contrast to the Beatles' first album 'Please Please Me'. This was recorded in one day. It's a tribute to their talent that this one session has already produced two numbers which have found a place in the Top Thirty.
20, 1969, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr convened for the final time as the Beatles to finish recording John Lennon’s I Want You and wrap the Abbey Road sessions. After 11 studio albums, there would be no more Beatles music. Let It Be, released the following year, was recorded and initially scheduled for release before Abbey Road After a lot of thought, we’ve put together that very Beatles album-the one you never got to hear. We’ll call it What Is Life (a song title from Harrison’s 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass ), which seems an album title all the Beatles could have agreed to. And it’s another concession to Harrison’s growing creative status.
A comprehensive A-Z list of over 300 songs recorded by The Beatles, from Love Me Do to Let It Be, plus fascinating articles on each, including rarities, TV and radio performances, trivia, artwork, and much more. Welcome to the Beatles Bible song list.
Top 50 Beatles Songs. Staking out a firm identity on the album, the Beatles would never be the same. Rubber Soul was the dividing line; "Drive My Car" is the opening shot. Paperback Writer" was the only Beatles song to reach No. 1 in 1966. But Beatlemania was far from over. The group was stretching its sound – check out the fatter bass anchoring the track – and boundaries during the era, recording the mesmerizing Revolver before moving on to the colorful popscape of Sgt. Pepper's.
The Beatles (commonly known as The White Album) is the eponymous tenth studio album by English rock band The Beatles.
Beatles songs soon filled the top 5 places on the American top 40 chart - a record that has never been matched. After the Beatles became so popular in the United States, other British bands, such as The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Kinks and Gerry and the Pacemakers had songs become hits there as well. Towards the mid 1960s, The Beatles became bolder with their style of music. This largely started in 1965, with the release of the album "Rubber Soul", and hit a peak in 1967 with the release of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", which was named as the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. They were also named the most influential artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, because their music, clothing style, and attitudes shaped much of what was popular among young people in the 1960s.
