Опубликовано: 2 нояб. 2010 г. U2 Mysterious Ways (ZOO TV Live in Sydney).

Zoo TV: Live from Sydney is a concert video release by rock band U2 from the "Zoomerang" leg of their Zoo TV Tour. Recorded on Saturday, 27 November 1993 at Sydney Football Stadium on the band's featured stop in Sydney, Australia, it was released in May 1994 on VHS and Laserdisc, and re-released in September 2006 on DVD. It won the Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Long Form in 1994. The show was also broadcast around the world live on pay-per-view.

The two-disc release featured one additional track - Trying To Throw Your Arms Around the World, recorded live in New York. Release Date: 18 ноября, 2006. Produced By: Engineer: Label: U. om. Recorded At: ZOO TV Live in Sydney, 1993.

Zoo TV represents U2 at their most ambitious. The multimedia event combines two stages with live music, pre-recorded tracks, and 36 screens flashing an array of words and images. With the accent on material from Achtung Baby and Zooropa,Zoo TV: Live From Sydney first appeared on VHS in 1994 and garnered a Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video. -Kathleen C. Fennessy.

Zoo TV was the tour that expressed U2's fascination with technology (particularly satellite television coverage of the collapse of European Communism and the Gulf War) with the band's bolder '90s attitude. The result was a reaffirmation of U2's live power juiced with state-of-the-art mockery of rock & roll excess. Live From Sydney captures a memorable show from this tour and demonstrates the humor and eloquence of a band at its artistic peak. Unlike previous U2 tours, Zoo TV incorporated a mammoth stage setup wired with large television screens.

The second gig of U2 at the Sydney Football Stadium in Sydney (November 27, 1993) was broadcasted by various TV stations in various countries. The duration of the complete concert was around 132 minutes. The prefered sonically source is the official Zoo TV Live 2xCD set (114 minutes), which is unfortunately missing the whole "Television, The Drug Of The Nation" backing tape at the start of the intro, Tryin’ To Throw Your Arms Around The World, the aquarium interlude, the Zoo Confessionals and some other speeches and dead airs. All the unofficial releases are taken from delayed TV broadcasts, which are all missing the aquarium interlude, and three main sources can be identified

Director: David Mallet. U2 had been a major entity in the rock music world for many years by the time they released the ACHTUNG BABY album. Yet, it was this album that brought the band from popular rock act to multimedia force as their concerts began to include the video screen as an important part of the show. More BABY was the ZOOROPA album and one of U2's most successful (both artistically and commercially) tours, the Zoo TV Tour, in which the multimedia experience was expanded upon.

Following ACHTUNG BABY was the ZOOROPA album and one of U2's most successful (both artistically and commercially) tours, the Zoo TV Tour, in which the multimedia experience was expanded upon.
