Bonnie Lou. American musical pioneer, recognized as one of the first female rock and roll singers. She is also one of the first artists to gain crossover success from country music to rock and roll. She was the "top name" on the first country music program regularly broadcast on a national TV network. Bonnie Lou was one of the first female co-hosts of a successful syndicated television talk show, and a regular musical performer on popular shows in the 1960s and 1970s. She "was a prime mover in the first days of rockabilly," and is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

This entry is the unofficial reissue. Look at the extra images of the back and label to recognize the reissue: 1. The front has typical modern laminate while the 1958 issue has laminate that ends at the back. 2. The label of the original has a super deep and wide ring pressed into it. Not the shallow modern ring.

Bonnie Lou's music began as pop-oriented country with double-tracked vocals and later incorporated more and more R&B and rock & roll flourishes, until by the late '50s she was recording teen novelties such as "Little Miss Bobby Sox" and "Teenage Wedding.

This talent, plus an abundant amount of blonde, blue-eyed, feminine beauty has won her a following numbering men (who think her as the girl-friend), women (who feel she is the sister, or the girl next door), children (who love her friendly charm), and Grandfolks (who visualize her as their daughter). Bonnie Lou has been appearing profession-ally for about 14 years. At the age of 13, still in pigtails, she started out as a country singer. on radio in Bloomington, Illinois.
