Carlos Gardel (born Charles Romuald Gardes; 11 December 1890 – 24 June 1935) was an Argentine tango singer, songwriter, composer and actor, and is perhaps the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Gardel died in an airplane crash at the height of his career, becoming an archetypal tragic hero mourned throughout Latin America. For many, Gardel embodies the soul of the tango style.
The music of Argentina includes a variety of traditional, classical and popular genres. One of the country's most significant cultural contributions is the tango, which originated in Buenos Aires and its surroundings during the end of the 19th century and underwent profound changes throughout the 20th century.
Real name: Bianco, Eduardo Vicente. Nicknames: Manuel Bianco. Violinist, composer and leader. In 1924 there was a new Argentine aggregation, the one led by Eduardo Bianco. Since a young age he had had a formal training. He studied violin in his hometown, Rosario, province of Santa Fe. When he was a boy he went to Buenos Aires to join some orchestra, but according to his own saying, he was not lucky. Then he tried to take a chance in Paris. Among the vocalists that passed through the ranks of his orchestra we can mention Teresita Asprella, César Alberú, Juan Raggi and Bianco himself, as soloist or duetting with Pettorossi, with Raggi, and even in a humorous number that Bachicha and Melfi used to sing together. At that time everything was possible, the audience had fun and they had fun among them.
