Urge Overkill is an alternative rock band, formed in Chicago, United States, consisting of Nathan Kaatrud, who took the stage name Nash Kato (vocals/guitar), and Eddie "King" Roeser (vocals/guitar/bass guitar). They are widely known for their song "Sister Havana" and their cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon", which was notably used in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. Their first album since 1995, Rock & Roll Submarine, was released in 2011.

What set Urge Overkill apart from other bands that emerged in the early Nineties was their ability to combine punk and mainstream. Knife-sharp guitar riffs and thunderous drumming coupled with an uncanny melodic sense made their music radio-ready. 1993’s Saturation was glossy, full of great songs, and should’ve rocketed the band to superstardom. But, although the single Sister Havana received considerable radio play, they found big success elusive.

Explore Roger's board "Urge overkill" on Pinterest. Saw Suicidal Tendencies open for Megadeth during the "Countdown to Extinction" tour. Suicidal was supporting "The Art of Rebellion" album. Not too crazy about that one, but ST did sneak a couple of older songs into their set. Watching Rob Trujillo play bass was a treat too.

March 3 - To say the guys in Urge Overkill wanted a change is a bit of an understatement. UO has recently convened in Chicago with new guitarist Nils St. Cyr for pre-production work on its first album for its new label, Sony 550. A Sony spokesman told MTV News that St. Cyr has replaced Eddie "King" Roesser, and the new line-up has retreated to its home turf of Chicago to write material for its next album, which is expected to hit stores in this fall
