1,000 Years is the first album by The Corin Tucker Band, released on October 5, 2010, and the first album Tucker released since Sleater-Kinney went on "hiatus" in 2006. She recorded the album along with Seth Lorinczi and Julianna Bright of both Golden Bears and Circus Lupus, as well as Sara Lund of Hungry Ghost and Unwound. Lorinzci was also the album's producer. The only single released from 1,000 Years was "Doubt".

Though it wasn’t actually 1,000 Years between Sleater-Kinney's last album before they went on hiatus, The Woods, and the Corin Tucker Band's debut, it felt a lot longer than just five. The Woods reaffirmed Sleater-Kinney as one of indie rock’s premier bands - female-driven or otherwise - and Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein remained prominent afterwards, working on other projects ranging from new bands to journalism
But Corin chose to branch out and work with a new sonic palette. That’s not to say that 1,000 Years is a salsa or hip-hop album. Corin still stands at the forefront, but maybe time as a stay-at-home mom has altered her perception of life (I know I am changed forever when my wife leaves town for a weekend). This quote sums the album up nicely: Thats the artistic, itchy personality, Tucker says. Youre constantly trying to do something different. The songs touch on common daily subjects and the struggle of sometimes, well, just being . And then you realize that you are listening to one of the best albums of the year. The Corin Tucker Band – Doubt. Tagged as: Corin Tucker.
For Tucker, that now means putting out a fine solo album called 1,000 Years, which sounds surprisingly muted compared to the raging wails of many Sleater-Kinney records, but which nevertheless finds the singer in a bold and exploratory place. Aside from a few muscular, careening rockers ("Handed Love," "Doubt"), it's more stripped-down than many of her most ardent fans might expect.
1,000 Years is an uplifting album, despite some of the painful imagery. Sometimes wallowing in the past isn't such a bad thing, especially when, like it did for Corin Tucker, it moves you forward.
