John Fogerty - Eye of the Zombie (1986).
Only a year after his hit comeback album 'Centerfield,' John Fogerty released 'Eye of the Zombie' on October 1, 1986. After a decade out of the spotlight, John Fogerty returned to rock ’n’ roll stardom in 1985. His first LP in 10 years, Centerfield, topped the Billboard album chart while launching a bunch of hit singles and showing Creedence Clearwater Revival fans that the hiatus hadn’t impaired is ability to make great music. But on the heels of such a long break – due, at least partially, to record business entanglements – it was a surprise when Fogerty announced another new album to be released. Eye of the Zombie would hit stores on Oct. 1, 1986

John Fogerty is the second solo studio album by former Creedence Clearwater Revival vocalist/guitarist John Fogerty, released in 1975. It was released by Asylum Records in the United States and Fantasy Records internationally. As with the Creedence Clearwater Revival records, the album consists of a mix of originals and cover songs. Although the album is eponymously titled, Fogerty himself refers to it as "Old Shep"; Shep was the name of his dog, who appears on the cover with him.
John Fogerty has never been the world’s most relaxed human being, but Eye of the Zombie carries his apocalyptic paranoia to unprecedented heights. If the heavy-metal monster on the album cover doesn’t convince you that Fogerty’s bad moon has fully risen, one spin of Headlines, the title track or Violence Is Golden will do the trick. By the time the LP’s closing cut, Sail Away, recommends a spaceship escape as the means of leavin’ all of this pain behind, any rational person would have to worry that the fabled swamp rocker just might have water on the brain.
