Cat Stevens surprised his fans with this strangely titled techno-pop instrumental. He explained to Uncut magazine in 2014: "In the '70s, there was an article that made me furious, but also made me laugh, called 'Was God An Astronaut?' The whole premise of putting God into a space rocket was so outrageous I just decided to have a go and wrote that song. This is not to be confused with Stevens' other canine-titled cut, his 1966 UK hit "I Love My Do. More songs from Cat Stevens. More instrumental songs. More songs about spirituality or religion.

One of the first instrumental electronic song from Cat Stevens' 1977 album "Izitso". It's 16:50, people are walking their dogs on the street like every day :) 3 years назад. I was already a big Cat Stevens fan, and this is a nice change of pace for him. This actually hit the R&B chart as well. Marley Marl's Golden Era Radio and Bent Roc's Classic Flavors). Nice video! 4 years назад. This was around the same time as Kraftwerk.

the old schoolyard - Cat Stevens - YouTube. also the track works surprisingly well over hip-hop as sampled on this 1997 cut: DITC - Internationally Known (Original) - YouTube. hands on the actual prototype I strongly doubt there's any CS-80 on this album (3). Not that it really matters but thought I'd mention it anyway

Notes

Counterfeit repress of the original 1977 US promo-only 12". Same mix on both sides.

The original US promo-only 12" has a white label with a small A&M logo printed slightly off-centre (as shown in the main picture). The counterfeit repress has a light blue label and the A&M logo is bigger and appears in the centre of the label, as opposed to the original. Therefore, the two can easily be distinguished.
