A new version of Last. The Best Of Joe Walsh & The James Gang (1969-1974). Overview (current section).
The Best Of James Gang Featuring Joe Walsh. After the James Gang broke up in 1972, he formed Barnstorm with Joe Vitale, a college friend from Ohio, and Kenny Passarelli, a bassist from Colorado, where Walsh had moved after leaving Ohio. While the band stayed together for three albums over three years, its works were marketed as Walsh solo projects. The last Barnstorm album, 1974's So What contained significant guest contributions from several members of the Eagles, a group that had recently hired Walsh's producer, Bill Szymczyk
The James Gang rocked it out of Cleveland, Ohio for several years and worked closely with producer Bill Szymczyk, helping him to become a go to console master for a variety of hard rock groups that include The J. Geils Band and, latterly, The Eagles. Wrapping things up nicely is the Best of Joe Walsh and The James Gang 1969-1974, which is eighteen tracks and none of ‘em whack. Joe and the Gang at their very best this is one of our most played compilations of the season.
