Jacques Hustin was born in Liège, Belgium on March 15, 1940. He debuted as singer at the age of 15. In 1965 he won the first prize at the Festival de la Chanson in Spa. A first album followed and he went to Paris. In the period 1966-1968 he sang mostly in cabarets. In 1974 he participated for Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton with the song 'Fleur De Liberté'. He ended up at the ninth position.

Jacques Hustin (15 March 1940 – 6 April 2009) was a Belgian singer-songwriter and artist who was successful in his homeland in both fields, and is best known internationally for his participation in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. He released his first album in 1966 and moved to Paris, where he lived for several years. Eurovision Song Contest. In 1974 Hustin's self-penned song "Fleur de liberté" ("Flower of Liberty") was chosen as Belgium's representative in the nineteenth Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 6 April in Brighton, England
