Born Ernest Dale Tubb, this singer was one of the pioneers of country music. He was born in 1914 and was known as the Texas Troubadour. He pioneered the honky tonk style of music that became popular in country music. Even today people emulate the way that Tubb and his band played their style of music. Ernest is also well known for having pioneered the record shop in Nashville which still bears his name. He released 92 singles of which 6 made it to number one on the National Charts. This was released in 1949 and made its way up to the number one spot on the national record charts. This is another great country cheating song that has become a standard Tubb signature song. 8. Rainbow at Midnight. The year of 1946 saw another number one on the National charts for Tubb.
Ernest Dale Tubb (February 9, 1914 – September 6, 1984), nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. His biggest career hit song, "Walking the Floor Over You" (1941), marked the rise of the honky tonk style of music. In 1948, he was the first singer to record a hit version of Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson's "Blue Christmas", a song more commonly associated with Elvis Presley and his late-1950s version
