Causa Sui’s Jakob Skøtt to Release Amor Fati on March 17. On March 17, El Paraiso Records will release Amor Fati, the second solo offering from Causa Sui drummer Jakob Skøtt. No audio from the album has surfaced publicly as of this moment, but as described below, it does follow a much different course than Skøtt‘s 2012 solo debut, Doppler, trading out electronic ambience for a fuller band feel.

It opens with the heart-racing Mantis In Lace, which borrows a familiar riff from Giorgio Moroder’s classic Midnight Express soundtrack, and then ups the glitchy synth ante on the Kraftwerkian Synthemesc. Fans of John Carpenter’s soundtracks for his Halloween films will also find a lot to enjoy throughout this synth-heavy listening experience. And the album ends on a contemplative, relaxing note with the swirling Earth of No Horizon that’ll have Tan Dream heads salivating for more.
