Southern Delight/Barefoot Jerry Barefoot Jerry.
So the first album, Southern Delight, and second, Barefoot Jerry, were combined as the double Grocery album in 1975 - see photos here of the cover. Track 3 notes on Southern Delight explains "The inspiration for our music and home of the group's namesake - Barefoot Jerry - a wonderful old fiddler who runs a store in the Smokies". So Cathi Barr has identified this as a family relative - Barefoot Jerry Effler, of Townsend, Tennessee. Just next to the Great Smoky Mountains. Check her posts to this site for an interesting unfolding tale.

Barefoot Jerry is an American Southern rock and country rock band, based in Nashville, Tennessee, most active from 1971 to 1977. It was composed of area studio musicians under the tutelage of Wayne Moss and Mac Gayden. Barefoot Jerry was once a store next to Gayden's home in the Smoky Mountains. Barefoot Jerry was actually an old-style country fiddle player inside the store; Gayden named the group for him. Both Moss and Gayden had been lead guitarists for Area Code 615 and also for other 615 alumni. Wayne Moss, guitar, keyboards, vocals, bass. Mac Gayden, lead guitar, vocals, slide guitar.

GROCERIES was a 1975 repackaging of Barefoot Jerry's first 2 albums, SOUTHERN DELIGHT(1971) and BAREFOOT JERRY(1972). Mac Gayden only played on the first album. I also have several of their other albums, and I recently bought a cd of Mac Gayden's NIRVANA BLUES, another very good album. I wish all of Barefoot Jerry's albums would be released on cd. /5. 8). albums on a double-LP set titled Grocery. Moss assembled yet another group for Barefoot Jerry 's 1976 update, Keys to the Country. His band included bassist Terry Bearmore, guitarist Jim Colvard, Warren Hartman on various keyboards, and Charlie McCoy, who again made a guest appearance. The same members (sans McCoy ) returned for a final album in 1977, Barefootin'. Wayne Moss has continued to play and produce, especially for his friend.
