Description

The "angry young men" were a group of mostly working- and middle-class British playwrights and novelists who became prominent in the 1950s. The group's leading figures included John Osborne and Kingsley Amis. It is thought to be derived from the autobiography of Leslie Paul, founder of the Woodcraft Folk, whose Angry Young Man was published in 1951.

Album: Passover Tabbed by: Jack Niehsner Tuning: Standard. This is only the basic outline of what to play. There's lots of freedom to improvise, it's quite fun to muck around with this song. I'm not gonna tab the specifics, you'll have listen to it to get the feeling of what to play.

The Angry Young Men were a new breed of intellectuals who were mostly of working class or of lower middle-class origin. Some had been educated at the postwar red-brick universities at the state’s expense, though a few were from Oxford

Title: All the Young Men (1960). Plot Summary Plot Synopsis.

The title "Young Men Dead" could also be taken to mean that while the subject of the song has survived, his innocence is gone and he's emotionally numb to everything he's experienced. I don't think the song refers to any battle specifically, although it easily reminds me of scenes from Vietnam movies where soldiers are sneaking through the jungles and fields in the dead of night. My InterpretationThe song is about young soldiers, probably drafted on their 18th birthday given a gun and told to go fight. One line seems like the country itself is talking to them. With a drop of blood, you will take them out, for me.
