That being said, the surprisingly solemn, slow-burn introduction to Perinatal Odium Dilute (complete with some captivating bass/guitar interplay) reminds me quite a bit of the dearly-departed Ludicra, although the savage torrent of blackend venom and vitriol which follows is several shades darker and several times more vicious.

As of this writing, it has been three years since Haunter's "Thrinodia" came out, and in that time this album keeps getting more and more criminally overlooked. I don't know if Haunter has purposefully remained hidden from a bigger spotlight, but it's a damn shame because "Thrinodia" is an extreme metal record that has something for everyone. It deserves a place in the kvlt-est of kvlt elitist's collection just as much as a casual listener of black metal
