X sees Air Liquide moving somewhat into the future, from their downtempo opener, "Eldorado," replete with sexy French female vocals, to the Middle Eastern chanting on "Hagia Sofia," an influence that will echo later in "Tat1_Gibi!." Mary Applegate returns for the groovy children's song, "Fishes in the Sky," while the dub comes on strong in "Champian." "(That's You,) On The Floor..." gets into some silly electro, but "And Then They Cloned My Dog" has some of that atmospheric paranoid acid that made their earlier work so memorable, and the more minimal "From Desert To Desert" has a quiet, catchy smoothness. Meanwhile, Stereo Total's version of "If There Was No Gravity" takes its lullaby vocals to its logical end: as a French chanson. The remixes of "Mind Trip" and "Space Brothers" aren't as compelling, however, but it's good to hear them press ahead in their sound.
