the long title track on 2nd side is a 20-minute longmusical manifesto on race, conformity and (pre-internet)mass culture. It opens inematically in a cotton field andtravels through a series of feels and styles (an Africanhoedown, an acapella choral tongue-twister and a Fred Frithalike metrical breakdown) each transforming seamlessly intothe next. It culminates at a stand-up comedy club in a diatribeon "skin colored" Band-Aids, the origin of Valley Girls, thesupposed twenty-seven Eskimo words for snow ("snow, snow, snow")and "why when you move and go to a new elementary school, all thekids look the same at first…the 1st side continues with songs thatevolved from a theater piece, "Harangue." The theme seems to be theinadequacy of economics as an explanation for human endeavor. This Lp is housed in nice silk-screened sleeve artwork and pasteon back sleeve.
