Super Furry Animals formed in Cardiff after being in various other Welsh bands and techno outfits in the area. Dark Days/Light Years is a record that privileges the five-way dynamic that has lead Super Furry Animals through nine albums. Super Furry's final release offers some very interesting music. It's definitely catchy, but is it all good? Yet it was abundantly clear that Super Furry Animals had failed to clear the bar that they themselves had set.
