A-ha was formed in 1982 by vocalist Morten Harket, guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, and keyboardist Magne Furuholmen. The band moved to London and eventually signed with Warner Bros. They released their debut album Hunting High and Low in 1985, which remains their biggest success and contained their international break-through hit "Take On Me". A string of hit singles followed, including the 1987 James Bond theme "The Living Daylights". Their next album, Lifelines was released in 2002, but would be their final album for Warner Bros. After signing to Polydor (part of Universal Music), further new albums were released in 2005 and 2009, after which the band decided to break up. However, they reformed for yet another new album, Cast in Steel, which was released in 2015.

In 1985 a-ha released their debut album Hunting High and Low which officially put them on the map and catapulted into international stardom. Peaking at number one in the Norwegian charts and number two in the UK, the album featured the tracks Torn, The Sun Always Shines on . and of course the smash hit single Take On Me. You’ll hear renditions of the popular track all over the world, whether it’s in karaoke bars or covered by artists such as a1, Tori Amos and ska-punk band Reel Big Fish. a-ha were invited to play at the 1998 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony held in Oslo performing alongside Shania Twain, Elton John and Enrique Iglesias. At the end of Foot of the Mountain tour cycle, in 2010 the band announced that they would be calling it a day. To mark 30 years of band history, in 2015 a-ha reunited to perform at Rock in Rio festival held in Brazil.

In Brazil a-ha played at the Rock in Rio II festival in front of 19. 00 visitors. On this tour a-ha gave 57 concerts. 1993, 1994 Memorial beach tour. In 1993, 1994 a-ha have done a small club tour with 29 concerts across Europe (England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Norway) with their new album Memorial beach. Besides a-ha played in Rusia at the White nights festival. 2000, 2001 Minor earth, major sky tour. The album Minor earth, major sky was released in 2000 and was a great comeback for a-ha. The tour for the new album Lifelines, which will come out in april 2002, will start the 8th june 2002 in the Ullevaal stadion in Oslo. The five newest tour dates announced for a-ha's 2020 'Hunting High and Low Live' tour are in Japan! There will be two shows in Tokyo, plus shows in Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya. a-ha last performed in Japan in 2010, two of those shows at Summer Sonic. Before that, a-ha played in Japan in 2000, during the Minor Earth Major Sky tour. There will be a pre-sale for Creativeman members from 10 July to 15 July. The ticket company will also have a pre-sale from 16 July to 29 August e public on sale is 31 August at 10:00am local time (2:00am BST).

Later we’ll go to Chile, the man from Vennesla says on the phone from Bauru. He’ll be following a-ha practically around the world as the band says their final goodbyes after 25 years with an extensive tour. On December 4th it will be over for a-ha, with the last concert on the Ending on a High Note -tour taking place in Oslo Spektrum. As a fan myself, I think it’s sad that they’re ending the band. But they’re saying that it would be difficult to record a another album, that it would be hard to achieve. Then I think it’s a brave decision to put an end to it.
