Roots is the sixth studio album by Brazilian metal band Sepultura. It was released in Europe on February 20, 1996 and in the . three weeks later on March 12 by Roadrunner Records. It is the band's last studio album to feature founding member and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Max Cavalera. Following the shift to slower tempos and Latin-tinged rhythms on the album Chaos .

ABOUT THE ALBUM, Brazilian heavy metal icons SEPULTURA have released their 14th studio album, Machine Messiah on January 13th 2017 via Nuclear Blast Records. Inspired by the robotisation of our society, the album was produced by the band and Jens Bogren (Soilwork, Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth) of Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. The stunning cover artwork of Machine Messiah was created by Filipino artist Camille Dela Rosa.
