Again backed by the spare ambience of the group RinneRadio, Gierran heralds Wimme's growth since his self-titled debut - although remaining steeped in the traditional yoik style, there's a greater sense of mood and drama this time out, as well as a continued embrace of diffuse creative threads which makes his music harder than ever to pigeonhole.

This is a wonderful collection of atmospheric music. It transports the listener to the snows of Lapland where we can experience the shamanic chants and tones of this Saami music, skilfully blended with modern rhythms and chords. Gierran' means 'Enchantment' and this track especially lives up to its title. It conjours such beautiful ideas of the vastness of the Artic landscape and the ancient traditions of the Saami people.
