Keijo (競女) is a water sport where girls stand on a small floating arena and compete against one another. The aim is to push the other contestant off of the arena into the water, but players are forbidden to use their limbs. They are only allowed to use their hips and chests to fight. However, they are freed to launch their attack to any body parts of their opponents, including their opponent's face and vital points.

The series centers around the fictional women-only sport of keijo, where players stand on floating platforms and aim to incapacitate or push their opponent into the water, using only their breasts and buttocks. The story follows Nozomi Kaminashi, a gymnast who trains at a keijo school, hoping to become the richest player in Japan. She was the first to recognize Nozomi's Vacuum Butt Cannon move and knows the danger of the attack as she once used it herself. She has a rivalry with the Keijo training school's head teacher in East. She is voiced by Mabuki Andō in Japanese and Jamie Marchi in English in the anime television series. Miku Kobayakawa (小早川 未来, Kobayakawa Miku) is voiced by Yōko Hikasa in Japanese and Dawn M. Bennett in English in the anime television series.

Keijo is an exciting new sport for women: competitors fight on round floats known as Land and must try to be the last girl standing on her feet while they try to knock each other down and into the water. The catch is that players can only hit each other using their breasts or buttocks. The sport is so popular (and lucrative) that a school has opened up just for the training of Keijo players, and recent high school grad and star gymnast Kaminashi Nozomi has managed to secure a place there

The plotline of Keijo! may not seem similar at first glance but we assure you there are comparable elements between the two anime. For example, both Sakura and Nozomi Kaminashi take part in their respected physical sports with two goals in mind. Nozomi’s is to become the very best Keijo player and to earn a fortune for her and her family. Taiga Kagami is a promising player who is returning from the United States and Tetsuya Kuroko is a non-athletic individual who is able to get by completely unnoticed to opposing teams. Tetsuya was a part of the Teikou Junior High School team where he thrived as the "Phantom Sixth Man," who sets up his teammates with spectacular passes.
