This was arguably the best compilation to ever come out of the NY hardcore scene (although the Revelation Records "Way It Is" compilation is definitely a close second. It's a good mix of some more well known acts (Gorilla Biscuits/Raw Deal) with some much more obscure, but high quality acts (Life's Blood/Uppercut) and the whole thing just has a raw, dark vibe that runs through the whole thing

Where the Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's picture book by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak, originally published by Harper & Row. The book has been adapted into other media several times, including an animated short in 1973 (with an updated version in 1988); a 1980 opera; and a live-action 2009 feature-film adaptation, directed by Spike Jonze. The book had sold over 19 million copies worldwide as of 2009, with 10 million of those being in the United States.

If these tunes are any indication, we are in for a movie that is both imaginative, uplifting, and to be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The album pretty much goes right along with the story, even taking words from the book for song titles and adding in an occasional sound clip from the movie. And while most movies don’t use much of the soundtrack in the actual film, it’s very foreseeable that we could hear the majority of these tunes throughout. Good soundtracks should make you feel exactly as the movie does.
