Elvis on Tour is an American musical documentary film released by MGM in 1972. It was the thirty-third and final motion picture to star Elvis Presley before his death in 1977. A follow-up to the 1970 release Elvis: That's the Way it Is, another musical documentary, this film followed Presley as he embarked on a 15-city tour of the United States in April 1972. Elvis on Tour also contains vintage footage of Presley's famous 1956 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and pre-tour rehearsal footage.

There was no soundtrack album scheduled, and it's hard to believe that CBS-TV actually would have aired the show if Presley hadn't died two months later, making it his final recorded performance (and making his records big sellers again). CBS showed the one-hour special on October 3, 1977, and RCA released this double-LP set, Elvis in Concert, in which Presley walks through some of his best-known numbers. His fans can be heard praising him, and his father signs off mournfully (in the middle of the album)

Thanks elvis112, I look forward to hearing this. I believe this should complete my Elvis On Tour soundtrack which I will post in time for the anniversary of the King's death. What you hear on the official album is what was recorded during that show PLUS the additional needed overdubs to cover the technically unsatisfactory recording.
