Tooth and Nail may refer to: Tooth and Nail (various artists album), a 1979 compilation album featuring Californian punk rock bands. Tooth and Nail is a seminal compilation album featuring six early Californian punk rock bands: the Controllers, the Flesh Eaters, . Negative Trend, Middle Class, and the Germs. Except for Negative Trend and the Germs, all bands on Tooth and Nail were co-produced by the Flesh Eaters frontman Chris Desjardins and Judith Bell.

Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It has been home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, and MxPx. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's Pet the Fish, which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl.

The title Heavy Metal is somewhat misleading. But the title refers to National Lampoon's sci-fi/fantasy magazine on which the film is based. Most songs are exclusive to this soundtrack. The best-known song here is Journey's ballad "Open Arms. Blue Oyster Cult's darkly menacing "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" is a haunting gem. Devo's quirky, new wave interpretation of the Allen Toussaint-penned "Working in the Coal Mine" was a minor hit.

Metal titans Metallica were affectionately referred to as Alcoholica in their early days - and with good reason. The members drank with the thirst of parched nomads and didn’t seem to know the meaning of when enough is enough. There’s no question that Metallica were serious thrash. In addition to being rightfully pissed that the band send him back to Cali on a bus and played his parts on the four songs he co-wrote for the album, Mustaine was miffed that a bunch of drunks fired him for being too drunk for their band.
