It being spread out over two discs really improves the punch and clarity and brings this record to life. If you care about having the artwork, do like I did and insert those discs into this sleeve. It’s worth it, I promise. I found that this single disc commercial release really doesn’t do justice to the music. There’s a reason DJs and industry people got the album on two LPs. Listening to "Everybody Got Their Something" there is no doubt that she was signed to Cheeba Sound (home of D'Angelo) on the basis of having a fabulous voice and some great songs, rather than her precocious childhood. But what a childhood! First single issued age five, supporting The Police in front of a 300,000 strong crowd in Chile at age eight& admittedly having a famous father helped.

A fantastic album to sing and especially dance to, Nikka Costa's genre-mixing and vocals-mixing makes one extremely underrated album. She utilises both the sultry soulful element of her voice as well as her piercing, 'high notes'. Speaking of, I am pretty stoned, but yeah goddamn this album is awesome, I just listened to it and I was rocking out from start to finish.
