In July 1956, Eddie Cochran's first "solo artist" single was released by Crest Records. It featured "Skinny Jim", now regarded as a rock-and-roll and rockabilly classic. In 1958, Cochran seemed to find his stride in the famous teenage anthem "Summertime Blues" (co-written with Jerry Capehart).

The track reached N. 6 in the US R&B charts in 1974 and, 18 years later, in 1992, Eric B And Rakim sampled it for their track ‘Keep The Beat’. Jasper Country Man’ is another addictive groove with a funkafied undertow
