Recorded in the US with American musicians, it peaked at number 114 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as number 5 on the Jazz Albums chart. When Creed Taylor left Verve/MGM for his own label under the auspices of A&M, he quickly signed Antonio Carlos Jobim and they picked up right where they left off with this stunningly seductive record, possibly Jobim's best. Jobim contributes his sparely rhythmic acoustic guitar, simple melodic piano style, a guest turn at the harpsichord, and even a vocal on "Lamento," while Claus Ogerman lends a romantically brooding hand with the charts

Wave is the third album by Antônio Carlos Jobim, released in 1967 on A&M Records. It is known as Jobim's most successful album to date (No. 5, . Jazz Albums, 1967; No. 114, . All tracks composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim. The Red Blouse" – 5:09. Look to the Sky" – 2:20.

Antônio Carlos Jobim - Wave (Álbum Completo) - 1967. Antonio Carlos Jobim - Look to the Sky 2:21. Antônio Carlos Jobim - Batidinha (by EarpJohn) 3:20. ANTONIO CARLOS JOBIM (1967) - Triste 2:10. Tom Jobim - Mojave 2:28. Antônio Carlos Jobim - Lamento 2:45. Tom Jobim - Antigua 3:11.

Singer, guitarist, pianist and-above all-composer Antonio Carlos Jobim was among the first artists to be signed by producer Creed Taylor when he set up CTI Records in 1967. The Brazilian, who helped launch bossa nova internationally when his tune "Desafinado" became a Top 10 hit for saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Charlie Byrd in 1962, had already worked with Taylor (producer of the Getz/Byrd disc), notably on The Composer Of Desafinado Plays (Verve, 1963). Remarkably, Wave reached in the . jazz album charts in 1967. Remarkably, because despite the inclusion of musicians such as bassist Ron Carter, flautist Jerome Richardson and trombonists Urbie Green and Jimmy Cleveland, it takes a very, very big stretch of the imagination to think of Wave as jazz.
