Description

Ekatarina Velika-EKV-. Pojeli smo svako zrno, celu noć strpali u nedra.

Ekatarina Velika is the second studio album by the Serbian rock band Ekatarina Velika, released in 1985. Before this release, the band was called Katarina II, and had released a self-titled album in 1984. The group personnel included the new drummer, Ivan "Firchie" Fece (ex. Luna, Jakarta), who had replaced VD, and excluded Gagi Mihajlović. The album was recorded at the SIM studio in Zagreb with Vladimir Smolec as producer.

Ekatarina Velika ("Catherine the Great", named after Catherine II of Russia, also called EKV for short) was one of the most successful and influential rock/New Wave bands from Yugoslavia. The core of the band consisted of singer/guitarist Milan Mladenović, keyboardist Margita Stefanović and bassist Bojan Pečar, with other members only remaining with the band for shorter periods.

Ekatarina Velika (Serbian Cyrillic: Екатарина Велика, English: Catherine the Great), sometimes referred to as EKV for short, was a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band from Belgrade, being one of the most successful and influential music acts coming out of former Yugoslavia. Initially called Katarina II (Serbian Cyrillic: Kатарина II, English: Catherine II), the band had built up a devoted following that greatly intensified and expanded after the death of its frontman Milan Mladenović in 1994, which caused the band to dissolve. The very next day Milan was held in a hospital, and it was soon discovered that he had pancreatic cancer. Barely a few months later, on November 5, 1994, Milan Mladenović died in Belgrade, at the age of 36, thus Ekatarina Velika ceased to exist.
