The Boo Radleys never convinced in their latter years as a Britpop act, and Carr’s early releases as Bravecaptain portrayed a man caught between Coral-style psych-pop and Squarepusher-style sonic collage. This CD, however, is a vast improvement and is also his most human album since the Boos’ 1993 masterpiece Giant Steps.
