Diary Of A Lonely Sailor. Overview (current section).

The Timewriter: So Free, The Guiding Light, Flicking Pages и другие песни.

Much of this, his third album of original material, trod the fine line between quiet alien textures and stodgy house fundamentals, but rarely in an irritating way. Diary demonstrated that Cochois had learned from the stark anti-drama of his earlier releases. If his sampled vocal instincts were a bit off, as in the ingratiating "The Guiding Light," the rest of the material stood up straight and focused its strengths around an occasional angular German facade.

Jean Frank Cochois aka The Timewriter was born into a family where music played a vital part in everyday life. From the age of 13 on, he got trained in classical music and was sent to a music boarding school. Soon he started experimenting with electronic music while also including acoustic instruments. After several band memberships and three theatre music projects, Frank produced his first Album ‚The Timerewinder in 1994. 1. Diary Of A Lonely Sailor Vocals – Man Who Could, The. 2. i fully agree the words of my previous speakers! this album is the best electronic/deephouse/chillout/relax stuff ever made! not a single weak track, each one full of positive energy, lovely melodies, cool or sweet vocals, energetic drives and powerfull basslines. it put me tears in my eyes and gave me constantly goosebumbs listening the first time. if there is sent out a spaceshuttle to welcome extraterrestrial intelligence, it should play this album when saying hello! they will understand! :)

I´m from Brasil, since 1996 I´ve been watching Plastic City Records creating a new form to Deep, Progressive and Tech House. They´re visionary´s of the future. Greats DJs and producers like Terry Lee Brown Jr., Lukas Greenberg and of course Jean Frank Cochois (The Timewriter) are part of this history. There´s no doubt that they are on the top of dance music scene now a days.

As of when this comment was posted, 29 'Oggers have given this production by The Timewriter a 5/5 - and no one has given it anything less. That alone speaks volumes! "Diary of a Lonely Sailor" is about as close to perfect as it gets in terms of not only deep tech house, but groovy music in general. It's worth mentioning that this is also a pretty accessible album; your friends who might not necessarily be as crazy about electronic music will probably dig this regardless. From start to finish, there's not a weak track on the entire album - this is an album comprised entirely of stand out tracks. Every single track on it is simply groovy as hell. I've heard a few DJs drop tracks from this album on crowds, and the result is always the same - everyone is moving by the end of the track. Unlike many albums, in which the shorter tracks are more like afterthought filler, the segue tracks on "Diary of a Lonely Sailor" are just as engaging as the floor-fillers, and are masterfully placed in just the right spots. The full tracks are simply gorgeous. The basslines and percussion, as well as melodies, are complicated enough to avoid repetitive stagnation, but not so overly intricate they detract from the atmosphere created by the rich harmonies. If "Diary of a Lonely Sailor" doesn't get you moving, I don't know what would... Probably not even sticking your finger in an electrical outlet.
