Description

Vaughan and Violins is a 1959 studio album by Sarah Vaughan, orchestrated and conducted by Quincy Jones. There may be claims of overdoing it or garishness. But her set of pipes and her willingness to use them dramatically, and sometimes coyly, to bring out the best of everything she sings brushes aside such criticisms as unjustified

Vaughan And Violins ‎(LP, Album, Mono). Sarah Vaughan Arrangements Et Orchestre Dirigé Par Quincy Jones ‎(LP, Album, Mono).

A compilation of two albums recorded in Europe under the direction of Quincy Jones, these sessions catch Sarah Vaughan at her magnificent best. But her set of pipes and her willingness to use them dramatically, and sometimes coyly, to bring out the best of everything she sings brushes aside such criticisms as unjustified. Classic standard or novelty tune, she had full command of the vocal art. The 1958 session took place in Paris with Jones doing the arrangements and leading a 55-piece orchestra

Sarah Vaughan, sometimes incorrectly referred to as Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown, is a 1954 jazz album featuring Grammy Award winning singer Sarah Vaughan and influential trumpeter Clifford Brown, released on the EmArcy label. It was the only collaboration between the pair. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.

This vintage album was recorded in Paris and accommpanied by Quincy Jones and his lush arrangments with strings and violins. Her voice is like a liquid silk that floats so elegantly and smoothly in the sea of lush orchestra. It is also an incredibly romantic record. Songs such as "The Thrill is Gone", "Please Be kind", only Sarah could sing like this kind of songs with her unlimited range and improvisation. This record inspires so many artists such as Johnny Mathis who admitted that he played this record at home several times. It's like a concept album.
