Having spent several months reorganising Blackwing Studios, they'd been intensively experimenting with recording processes, effects and new ideas. On a more atmospheric level, with four of the seven tracks featuring processed guitars and percussives (oft-reminding of Neu! at their most scrappiest) DOME 2 only had a couple of actual songs, and offered lots of new explorative avenues for them to follow. An intriguing cross-bred dark ambiance, with repetitive avant rock riffs drifting in and out of the smoggy reverb. Beats are allowed to occasionally provide respite for the casual avant-gardiste looking for Wire-isms,but there is no Colin Newman to donate a recognisable tune to the recipe; this cake does not rise.
