Never Enough (Patty Smyth album). Never Enough is the debut album by former Scandal singer Patty Smyth. It was released in 1987 on Columbia Records (also the group's label) three years after the band's breakup in 1984. In an interview with Smyth on The Bloomberg Report, she said the album "was never supposed to be a solo record; it was meant to be a record by Scandal Featuring Patty Smyth.
In 1987, she released her first solo album, "Never Enough", with the title track as the lead-in single. Co-written by Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman of the Hooters, the song only made it to on the Billboard Hot 100, but made the Top 5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, peaking at Five years later, Smyth had better chart success as a soloist when "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough", featuring Don Henley, peaked at on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box Top 100 (but did hit on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and on the UK Singles chart)

Patricia Smyth (born June 26, 1957) is an American singer and songwriter. She first came into national attention in the band: Scandal. She went on to record and perform on her own. Her distinctive voice and New Wave image gained broad exposure through video recordings aired on cable music video channels such as MTV. Her debut album Never Enough was well received, and generated a pair of Top 40 hits.
Patty Smyth is the second solo studio album by rock singer-songwriter Patty Smyth, formerly of Scandal, which went gold, as a result of the popularity of its first single, "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough", which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and also went Gold.
