Secret Ties, which was formed by keyboardist Brian Soares in 1985, tended to fare well among young Latinos who were into Latin freestyle artists like Exposé, Sweet Sensation, TKA, and the Cover Girls. But Secret Ties' dance-pop wasn't really freestyle, and it didn't sound like any of those East Coast residents. Soares appreciated Afro-Cuban salsa, but unlike Nayobe or Sandee, he was heavily influenced by Brazilian music. And the following year, Night Wave put out Secret Ties' debut album, All Through the Night. In addition to co-producing the album, Soares wrote most of the songs, including "Dancin' in My Sleep" and the follow-up single "One Night. Secret Ties, it turned out, didn't have much longevity - in 1988, the group broke up. "Thanks For Listening".

Through the Night is the debut album from Ren Harvieu released on May 14, 2012 on Island Records. It entered the UK mid-week album chart at number 2. The release of the album was postponed after the accident which happened on May 31, 2011. Ren Harvieu was with friends in an East London field, watching them performing acrobatic leaps over a hedge when she was knocked to the ground and broke her back. I couldn't feel my feet.
