Ray Brown plays arco bass behind Peterson in the lovely "Somewhere," while the feeling to "Jet Song" is very hip in the trio's hands.

I have been a fan of Oscar Peterson since the time I walked into a record shop in the early 60's and this album was playing. I immediately said the the clerk, "Who is that?" That was my first OP album and I think this is the BEST of his work. The album featured seven interpretations of songs that had featured in the recent film, West Side Story. All songs composed by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim.
