Alan Simon (born 3 July 1964) is a French folk-rock musician and composer, best known for his rock operas performed with noted rock musicians guesting. Simon has also branched out into film-making. Simon was born in Nantes, spending his early years in the moorlands of Goulaine. He left school at 15 to travel the world, supporting himself in a variety of trades.

Songwriter, singer, novelist and film director, Alan Simon was born on July 3rd, 1964 in Nantes (France). In 1984 he wrote his first songs, including 'SOS World' sung by Murray Head. In 1995, he wrote his first musical tale, 'The Little Arthur', for which 50,000 copies were released. In 1999, the release of 'Excalibur, The Celtic Legend' imposed him as a songwriter. A year later, Alan Simon produced Roger Hodgson's album 'Open the door' for which he composed the last track 'For every man'
