I thought I was going mad till I read reviews as I have both Tears and the Dance floor, blue vinyl and the deluxe edition the double LP. I thought my needle was worn but then it sounded ok on other vinyls and given it was quite an exspensive At440mlb i thought I was going mad. I like others always use the project Vinyl Vacuum cleaner on all records before I spin them. Made no difference surely there is a way of reporting this to the record company.

Dont buy this one. Save your money. Sound is super horrible and my vinyls had horrible scrathes so they werent even playable on most parts. Did not even get my money back from the store when i complained (Record was new and sealed when i bought it) about it. Beware of this release. Please buy the cd version...

Must be very cheap to make since the mastering sounds so terrible... not sure what happened but the person who mastered the record needs to be fired and hire someone who have better ears for the better sound for everyone who is buying this record

After buying the original vinyl release and being very disappointed with the sound quality, I wasn't expecting the deluxe edition to be the crispest sounding, and it isn't.That being said, I don't think it sounds any worse than the original blue vinyl, and in some places may sound a little better. The BIG issue here is how digital the vinyl sounds. The quieter passages of music are quite crisp, but the moment the beats really kick in, the vocals end up sounding robotic. It basically sounds like the audio equivalent of video interlacing.I still think this is one of the best albums of 2017 and would encourage any Pop fans to buy it in any format. But just know if you choose the vinyl format, it's not a good example of the vinyl experience.

Agreed, the sound quality on these is awful! It's like someone downloaded the files from YouTube and threw them on vinyl. The audio is very distorted at times.

Beware !!! This deluxe edition pressing is bloody awful !!!

Overall, the sound quality of both these vinyls seems to be better than the blue vinyl single disc version

I hope so... I read somewhere else that it was just as bad. So your comment has made me hopeful!

Agree with the other comments regarding this release. Really disappointed with both the aesthetics and sound quality. The 'blue' appears to come from a sheet of tissue paper between clear vinyl layers which is crinkled giving an odd 'marbled' appearance.Sound quality is muffled throughout with a lot of background noise - completely unlistenable. Most disappointing purchase of the year so far.

Unfortunately, one of my favourite albums of 2017, sounds like it has been transferred onto vinyl from a 128kbps MP3 file. The further the album goes on the worse the sound gets, until ''I Will Love Again'' sings us out with a muffled mess.I've cleaned it in my record bath, I brush both sides before playing, and brush the stylus before it drops on either side, and sometimes half way through just to check it's not found some dust from somewhere, but alas, it still sounds shit. A re-press is desperately needed, I want to dance around my front room to it but instead i'm constantly faffing with brushes in the hope I can hear it in it's full glory. ;-(

lets hope the reissue would sound great....this time have 9 new tracks on double lp on glitter and gold vinyl. At first i fought it was my stylus thats old and need to change so i decided to upgrade ortofon blue 2m and still sound terrible when i play other records it sounds super amazing... it sounds more like 96kbps to me lol 128kbps sounds better then this record

Whoever did the mastering for the vinyl version of this album did a terrible job. The vocals sound so overly digitized and sharp, almost ear piercing.

i agree.... i hope they fired that person who did the audio cuting, icant understand how they even pass this on test pressing for offical release.... the cd sounds way better
