An excellent record, this band is probably not as well known outside of their native Canada, despite being a supporting act for well-known bands like Rush and Jethro Tull. Produced by Larry Fast (Synergy, Peter Gabriel) the music is an eclectic, synth-heavy mix of new wave, hard rock and prog stylings and the instrumentation is unusual - no guitars, electric violin and mandolin. FM had a career arc not unlike many of their prog brethren - Genesis and Yes included - a band that started out very weird and spacey, and gradually tightened the screws, here presenting arrangements that are tighter,.

City Of Fear is a music studio album recording by FM (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1980 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Even then, though, I find 'City Of Fear' to be largely devoid of excitement or challenge. It is entirely indicative of where '70s prog went in the '80s: downhill.
